Coopersville Store Using Robots To Clean Floors

(Coopersville, MI)  –  The J & H Family Stores location in Coopersville is using more than ten robots to keep the floors clean. Maintenance worker Zachary Thorne says the Cobi 18 robot, nicknamed WALL-E, has sensors to navigate aisles and avoid hitting products and customers as it cleans and says it frees up employees to not have to be sweeping and mopping the floor. The robot is built by Zeeland-based ICE Cobotics, and president Mike DeBoer says they are seeing more interest in the devices.

He says the store is a truck stop that is open every day around the clock and gets heavy foot traffic.
